Responsibilities
Required strong command on PostgreSQL database administration, collaboratively working with the customer and enthusiastic in learning new technical skills.
- Must have minimum at least 6 years of experience with PostgreSQL database administration.
- Installing PostgreSQL on Linux/Unix.
- Required to have well versed with all types of backup and recovery procedure in PostgreSQL databases like pg_dump, pg_restore etc.
- Well versed with pg_settings configuration parameters to improve the db performance.
- Hardening security standards implementations using the pg_hba file.
- Strong hands-on experience with setting/configuring replication, load-balancing, encryption high availability, and performance tuning & optimization.
- PostgreSQL Index Management.
- Good to have PostgreSQL large scale data migration experience from DB2/Oracle/SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
- Should have good experience in writing stored procedures, functions and triggers.
Skills/Experience
Good to have a multi database skill set and basic application knowledge.
- PostgreSQL all versions(9.6/10/11/12/13).
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL client tools like psql, pg-psql and PgAdmin.
- SQL and Shell Scripting.
- Basic Linux server administration.
- Should have a strong understanding of how PostgreSQL works in Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud.
- ITIL process awareness.
